About me

I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher in Henk Dijkstra’s group at the Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (IMAU) at Utrecht University.

The overarching goal of my research is to understand ocean circulation changes in a warming climate, especially changes of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC).

My current research interests include the AMOC response to global warming and ice sheet melt, abrupt change/tipping dynamics of the AMOC, impacts of AMOC changes on the surface climate, and low-frequency AMOC variability. My work combines ocean and climate models of different complexity, from conceptual and intermediate-complexity models to state-of-the-art global climate models and – most recently – strongly eddying ocean models.

Previously, I completed my PhD within the CriticalEarth project at Politecnico di Torino (Italy) under the supervision of Jost von Hardenberg and Katinka Bellomo.
